As whitetail season comes to a close all around the country, the GAHO show will be trotting out some of the biggest bucks ever killed. There’s no better way to get your post-season hunting fix than to get a firsthand glimpse at the record-breaking whitetails of the Great American Whitetail Collection. The collection consists of 40 whitetails and illustrates the dreams of every whitetail hunter in North America. Two of the newer heads in the collection are the Melom Buck (shown at left) and the Kopp Buck (shown at right). The Melom Buck was found in the Peace River Valley area of Alberta, Canada, in 1997, and scored 286-4/8 on the Boone & Crockett Club scale for non-typical whitetails. Check out the Collection’s main attraction, the Milo Hanson Buck, as the NRA’s Bob Davis explains the story behind this monster.
Don’t forget, the “Bill Crutchfield Buck,” Maryland’s No. 1 non-typical whitetail, will be on display and the NRA Mason/Dixon Big Buck Contest will be held over the course of the weekend.
In addition, nationally renowned outdoor personalities will be conducting open seminars to discuss all things hunting. Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo of Archer’s Choice Media, Ray Eye of “Eye on the Outdoors” and Sean Mann of Sean Mann Outdoors will be on stage to answer questions and provide tips to improve your time in the field. A number of topics will be discussed including hunting various types of game, fishing, dog training and game calling.
