Modern roof prisms were the basis for the design of this highly compact, elegantly shaped and lightweight metal body. With rubber armoring it is exceptionally resistant and good to hold – and it is even watertight to a depth of five meters. The extra-long eye relief of 19 millimeters provide real convenience, and with an exit pupil diameter of five millimeters eyes have plenty of scope to keep objects in sight during the day, also guaranteeing a brighter image in twilight. With the additional folding rubber eyecups they also allow people wearing glasses to enjoy the entire field of view of 130 meters.
The design of the BD 6,5x32 IF is based on advanced characteristic features familiar from the latest models in the MINOX binocular program. Aspherical lenses enhance high contrast and detail rendition through an outstanding resolution right into the edges. A phase correction coating on the prisms increases the contrast of the image during viewing, even in dim twilight. Inside the body there is an argon gas filling which prevents fogging of the glass surfaces and additionally provides corrosion protection.
